Skin Care Guide For Younger Looking Beautiful Skin

Skin care is the array of practices that support skin health, improve its appearance and alleviate various skin conditions like wrinkles, acne and spots. The skin needs to be regularly cleaned and maintained for it to look younger and fresher. However, most people take it for granted and overlook the basic guidelines for proper skin care. They may include prevention of skin damage, proper use of moisturizers and nutrition to maintain the skin’s elasticity.

Skin care starts with cleansing. In this step, you need to remove all the dirt, make-up, sweat, oil, grime, dust and other contaminants from your skin through a cleanser which should be used on a regular basis. There are different types of cleansers and you need to find one that suits your skin type. For acne prone skin, choose a gentle acne cleanser and apply it after having a shower. Never use harsh toner on oily skin as it may lead to breakouts.

Toner and Cleanser: If you are using a cleanser, toner and moisturizer, choose one that does not contain harsh ingredients. Chemical ingredients can irritate the sensitive skin. Natural toners and cleansers contain mild herbs and plant extracts that are effective in treating various skin problems. For those who suffer from acne, choose a toner which contains salicylic acid so that it helps in treating the acne. For those who suffer from blemishes, the best toner and cleanser for them would be one containing alpha hydroxy acids.

Sunscreen: One important factor that many people neglect while applying moisturizer on their face is the fact that they are applying chemical sunscreens. These chemical sunscreens cause dehydration and dryness and may cause early signs of aging too. It is recommended that you apply sunscreen lotion which contains a high SPF value as it protects your skin from the UV rays of the sun. Although chemical sunscreens are technically classified as “sunscreen” but their application leads to the formation of free radicals that damage the cells in our body.

Serum: Most of the experts recommend that you should first put on a moisturizer before putting on a serum. However, it is seen that people tend to apply a serum immediately after washing their face. A good moisturizer will help to lock moisture in your skin as well as provide essential nutrients like vitamins to the skin cells. However, it is essential that you check with your doctor before applying any kind of moisturizer or serum. Do not let the tube reaches the elbow joint as this may lead to serous malignancy.

Toners: Toners are again used to remove the traces of dirt, make-up, oil and any other debris from the surface of the face. They are available in different types and brands. The most popular toners are those that are mild and mildew proof. However, if you have a dry skin then choose a toner that is made specifically for your type.
